Contesto Storico
Il Libro di Naum si inserisce nel contesto geopolitico del VII secolo a.C., quando l’Impero assiro dominava gran parte del Vicino Oriente antico. Ninive, sua capitale, rappresentava il centro del potere politico e militare, ma anche simbolo di oppressione per molte nazioni soggette.
Il riferimento alla caduta di Tebe (No-Amon) in Egitto suggerisce una datazione successiva al 663 a.C., mentre l’annuncio della distruzione di Ninive anticipa l’evento storico del 612 a.C., quando la città fu conquistata dai Medi e dai Babilonesi.
